Overview of Academic Research
Prof. Yong Yu’s research interest is quantum information processing, specifically quantum networking and networked computing.
His major achievements include:
* Cold atom-based quantum network:
Remote entanglement distribution between two quantum memories using 50km fiber; Demonstration of the first metropolitan 3-node quantum network prototype.
* Rydberg quantum information processing:
Deterministic atom-photon entanglement creation; Generation of a 6-photon Cluster state; Measurement-device-independent verification of a quantum memory.
* On-chip quantum node:
Wavelength tunable Erbium quantum emitter in the telecom band; Bandwidth-tunable telecom single-photon using cavity optomechanics.
