Overview of Academic Research
Prof. Fanming Qu’s research primarily focuses on low-temperature quantum transport and topological quantum computing, including investigation on transport properties of low-dimensional materials under ultralow temperatures and extreme magnetic fields, encompassing topological quantum materials, their physical properties, and device applications. His major achievements include:
*Demonstrating Aharonov-Casher effects with exceptional spin-orbit coupling tuning efficiency;
*Pioneering introduction of superconductivity into 2D topological insulator InAs/GaSb, achieving electric-field-tuned edge-mode superconductivity;
*In-situ band structure engineering in InAs/GaSb, observing topological phase transitions between trivial and topological insulator states;
*Observation of quantum electrical oscillations with current-inverse periodicity in charge-density-wave systems;
*Discovery of magnetic-filtered obstructed edge supercurrent in NiTe2-based Josephson junctions.
