Overview of Academic Research
You-Qi Nie specializes in experimental and technical research on quantum communication devices and quantum random number generation (QRNG). In practical QRNG, he has developed high-speed schemes based on photon arrival time and laser phase fluctuation measurements. In fundamental quantum randomness research, he has experimentally demonstrated measurement-device-independent QRNGs and quantum coherence witnesses under untrusted measurement conditions, elucidating the intrinsic link between quantum randomness and coherence. He has authored over 10 publications in journals such as Physical Review Letters, Quantum Science and Technology, and Applied Physics Letters, and holds more than 10 patents. He is a registered expert in the IEC/ISO JTC3/ahG6 Quantum Random Number Generator ad hoc group (now formally upgraded to a work group). He has contributed to the development of 1 published national standard.
He has led several projects, including 1 General Project and 1 Young Project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, 1 Key R&D Program of Anhui, 1 Youth Project of the Anhui Provincial Natural Science Foundation, and 1 China Postdoctoral Science Foundation Project. Additionally, he has contributed as a key member to multiple scientific research projects; the total funding for projects he has undertaken exceeds 7 million CNY.
