Overview of Academic Research
Prof. Guozhu Sun’s research interest is developing superconducting quantum devices.
His major achievements include:
* Established microfabrication process to fabricate high-quality superconducting quantum devices.
* Developed new structures and materials for the superconducting quantum circuits such as building compact microwave resonators with Hilbert space-filling curves and high-kinetic-inductance superconducting thin film, which reduce the resonator area sufficiently and, thus, will help to improve the integration of superconducting qubits, as well as to design other superconducting quantum devices.
*Developed home-made superconducting parametric amplifiers with excellent performances.
*Demonstrated simultaneous control of two qubits using the null-biased fiber-optic link with further reduction of the thermal load, which is a promising tool for the realization of large-scale superconducting quantum processor consisting of millions of qubits.
