Overview of Academic Research

Associate Prof. Jixi Lu’s research interest is focused on the field of quantum precision magnetic field measurement, including ultra-high-sensitivity atomic magnetometers, precision control of ultra-weak magnetic fields, and high-performance low-noise magnetic shielding. His major achievements include:

* A compact atomic magnetometer with a sensitivity better than 1 fT/Hz1/2 was developed. It addressed challenges in measuring pT-level residual magnetic field and fT-level magnetic noise.

* A triaxial atomic magnetometer based on all-optical modulation was proposed, completely eliminating the magnetic interference between arrayed probes.

* A hybrid magnetic shielding composed of permalloy, manganese zinc ferrite, and self-shielding coil was developed. It could create a sub-fT-level low-noise and high-stability magnetic environment.

These achievements have resulted in publishing more than 50 peer-reviewed papers in journals, and more than 30 applied/granted Chinese invention patents.
